1973 White with Blue Stripe Triumph Spitfire

Introduction

Resto-Rod 1972 Triumph Spitfire MK48.1.17

This car was built to be my personal “sleeper” as I wanted it to look like a well worn 70’s Triumph still in the original paint with all it’s battle scars intact. But under the surface, I wanted to build a total performance car. This meant tearing it down to the frame and rebuilding the car with a different drive train. I ended up choosing a Mazda NB Miata BP4W engine and 6 speed transmission for packaging and overall cost. The rear end is a Subaru R160 with LSD. I added a small turbo to the engine and designed it all so that it would fit under the stock body panels. The final result is a true sleeper that will surprise many much more expensive sports cars out there.
