Found this meme over at deviantART. It reminds me of the boards we used to make at ad agencies, a visual way to identify a brand’s values.

I approached this as a true map, looking at the major areas of influence and seeing where the crossovers are.

The four cornerstones could either be called the 4H’s — hardware, humor, horror and heroism — or the four M’s — military, MAD, Marvel and monsters. Jack Davis, one of my favorite artists, hits dead center. The guy has done it all.

It was a fun exercise, and a good way to get back to my roots.
