Grand Canyon and Arizona State match up for the second time in eight days with the finale of the brief two-game season series shifting to Brazell Field at GCU Ballpark on Tuesday night.
The game will be televised on FOX 10 Xtra (Ch. 45 / Cable 9) and stream on ESPN+ with Barry Buetel, Mike Rooney and Kate Longworth.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- BURIES CHASES HISTORY:Â Senior utility man Elijah Buries is one step away from program history. On Sunday at Saint Mary's, Buries logged his 224th career base hit. That tied Jacob Wilson's Division I program record for career hits. With his next hit, Buries will have the record all to himself.
Â
- THE SERIES:Â GCU and Arizona State are completing the two-game season series. The programs have been meeting for a home-and-home series since 2021. Prior to the resumption of the crosstown series, the Lopes and Sun Devils had met just twice since the turn of the century (2003, 2010). In totality, Tuesday's game will mark the 120th all-time meeting between the programs and the 44th played at GCU.
Â
- CRENSHAW FROM THE PLATE: Lopes senior second baseman Dustin Crenshaw is having a breakout senior campaign, currently leading the club in batting average (.349) and tied for the WAC lead with 45 hits. Crenshaw had 54 hits in his first three seasons combined. His next hit will be his 100th. Dustin's older brother, Wyatt, played for Arizona State in 2023.
Â
SCOUTING
Since GCU last saw Arizona State one week ago, the Sun Devils had their five-game winning streak snapped by No. 5 Oregon State. The Beavers swept the Sun Devils in Corvallis over the weekend. ASU was tied into the sixth inning of Sunday's finale before falling 9-7.
The Sun Devils are under third-year head coach Willie Bloomquist. ASU narrowly missed the NCAA tournament field in 2023, identified as one of the first four teams left out of the field.
ASU ranks No. 128 nationally with a team batting average of .280Â and 221st nationally with an earned run average of 7.00.
Arizona State's pitching staff features three former Lopes in Connor Markl, Hunter Omlid and Ryan Schiefer. Omlid and Schiefer both pitched in the April 2 meeting, combining for 1 2/3 innings of work, allowing two runs and a grand slam.
