Volvo Amazon 121 2.0 – 1970

SOLD THANK YOU

There is no doubt that Volvo got it right when they introduced the Amazon back in 1956. A total number of 667,000 cars were produced until 1970 when the 142 model was introduced as the successor. Actually  the 142 was ready for launch already back in 1966 but Volvo kept on producing the Amazon, which says a lot about how long lasting the model was. The Amazon was very popular as it combined a beautiful design with nice road manners and the possibility to maintain a good march speed on country roads as well as highways and not least the security and quality, which was a Volvo trademark already back then.

Our example is from the final year of production and it is one of the finest we have come across. Carrying all the technical improvements Volvo developed throughout the years this model has the strong B20 engine, dual circuit break system with brake booster as well as safety belts and head rests. The classic red color – Rubinred in Volvo jargon – suits the beautiful body and the matching red interior presents in a very nice condition. Getting behind the wheel is like a travel back to your childhood (what family did not own an Amazon at some point of time?). You sit well in the seats with nice space, which is not always the case for classic cars. And driving through the gears towards march speed happens nice and easily and it is such a relaxing car to drive. In traffic your fellow road users treat you with sympathy and smiles and the whole atmosphere of ownership of such a recognizable and bellowed car is quite special.

We deliver the car with fresh MOT and historical Danish license plates.
