Its July, so my bike collection expands… my first dual suspension mtb, a Canyon Nerve

Yes, yes, another new bike.  This one for bouncing around and climbing up and down mountains.  A Canyon Nerve XC 8.0.  I ordered it three weeks ago, and it arrived promptly when they said it would (a lesson to certain bike shops), courtesy of UPS.

It was all quite neatly packed away, along with the instructions…

It was relatively easy to put together, although I’m not very familiar with the latest quick release axle designs, they’ve changed a lot since I last bought a mountain bike (last year!).

The only problem I had was that it was a bit of a struggle to attach the rear wheel.  The rear hanger seems to be slightly mis-shapen.  But after a bit of pushing it slipped in and seems secure – its the only minor niggle of what seems otherwise an impeccably built bike (I mean the bits Canyon built, not me).  My only complaint is that they could have supplied more information about fixing the sag for the suspension, it will be a bit of trial and error I think to get it right.

And its now found its way to its new home, in my already far to crowded apartment.

All that remains now is to try it out in the real world…. posts to follow.
