OMIGOSH. YES. YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES. Can I repeat that? I'm wanting to. I want to jump up and down and scream with delight...or go into crazy adrenaline mode like I did the other day when I walked out of the movie theater, my face covered in awe and wonder and true love and delight and amazement and pure inspiration and incredulity at this movie.

I honestly have NOTHING bad to say about it. Not only was it extremely clean (besides a few hilariously placed cuss words and chest-showing damsels in distress), but it was just freaking phenomenally incredible. Do I make sense here? Is my brain befuddled and therefore befuddling you? I'm befuddled. This movie befuddles me. Hopefully you can make sense of this... ;)

So what was there in this movie to look forward to, to love?

First off, great music. If you listen to the soundtrack, you'll understand. Paul Haslinger - look him up.

The modern vibe. I wasn't sure if I was going to like that part of it, but I did. Man, oh man.

Then there was the cast. Ohhhhhh!! Whoever did the casting is a genius. These actors/actresses were perfect for their roles. I don't remember if there was once a line uttered wrong for the scene. Nothing about the actors and their talents was cheesy. Even actors (coughOrlandoBloomcough) who I've never appreciated the acting of were perfect for their parts and said everything perfectly and did everything perfectly. Was it the director or something? Dang, these guys nailed it.

The filming was beautiful, as was the editing and CG. Oh man I want to live some of those scenes just because of the color and the way everything was so lifelike...and yet not.

Then there were the costumes. HOLY SMOKES I wanted to wear every single dress in this movie; heck, I would have even tried on a man's outfit just for the sake of it. They were all extremely colorful and grand and beautifully detailed.

They did all their own stunts. I mean, come on! Does it get better? Yes. Yes it does.

Then, there was the dueling, the sword fights. It was like...art. Seriously, every move was like a hand-crafted porcelain from a master, perfectly placed and excellently choreographed, like a dance, or a poem.

And the story line/characters. What the heck! It was fantastical. The story line was nonstop action and adventure. Every plot and subplot was carefully placed, every line written for a purpose and for the immense enjoyment of the movie-goer. I couldn't believe my eyes - everything was so intense, all the colors, all the action. Toward the end, I thought I was in the climax, but no, I wasn't. Things kept going wrong - and getting worse. I thought I was seeing the end, but then some other problem arose and was bigger than the last. The final blowout scene was satisfying and amazing. The best scene. WOW.

And....I've been saving the best for last. Drum-roll please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOGAN LERMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so I've had a thing for this guy since I saw "3:10 to Yuma", where he played with my all time favorite (Christian Bale) and nailed his role. In "Percy Jackson", he was the best thing about that movie (which sucked). And now, here, in this movie, he not only has a leading role, he has, what appeared to me, *the* leading role.

Let me give you an example of how good Logan did at taking on his role. You know those characters, those who are new at whatever their task is, those who are very innocent an naïve and who do extremely embarrassing things that make the reader/watcher cringe in horror for him/her? Well, D'Artagnon could have been one of those characters. He did do some things that showed his naivety, but I never once cringed in painful embarrassment. I laughed. Heartily. Because the things he did were funny, and lessons learned. And even if the girl didn't fall for his flirty charms, I DID. Like, from the moment he opened his mouth. From the moment he whipped out that beautiful sword and fought off like twenty men before he received help.

How did he do it? I ask myself. He perfected his role, made for laughter and entertainment, as well as a character who you could respect even while he is learning. That is what I call fantabulous acting. I hope he becomes one of the greats. :D

And those are the reasons why this movie gets a 10/10 from me!! :D (And why you should somehow go see this movie right now!!!)

I used to watch this movie obsessively. It is genuinely one of the more wholesome adventure stories I've had the pleasure of seeing. Now, while the CGI is much to be desired, even for it's time, and watching it as an older adult, I don't quite remember that much innuendo or cheesy lines, it's still a guilty pleasure. The actors are wonderful, plot is believable and I'd say an overall great adventure story.

I've read the original source material, but it was quite a long time ago, so I can't recall all the details.

Was there so much cleavage? I mean... not out of the realm of possibility.

Steampunk flying zeppelins? Perhaps I missed that page.

Parking tickets for horses? ...Maybe I didn't read that chapter... or the same book.

It's visually spectacular with vivid colors and crystal clear images. As above, it's loosely based on the original, with familiar characters updated for extra visual fun. The costuming is fantastic, from the darker, yet testosterone-filled Musketeers, to the sumptuously elegant, over the top garb worn by the royalty and Milady. The scenery and sets are as stunning, done down to small details and still amazingly bright and beautiful.

The actors sold me - Luke Evans and Orlando Bloom? Yes, please, though the insufferable tone Orlando uses to deliver his pompous lines grates like nails on a chalkboard. Milla Jovovich? After The Fifth Element, of course. They couldn't quite get Jack Black, but James Cordon does his level best to channel the same manic, self-deprecating intensity, and it works well.

Check your suspension of disbelief at the door and just enjoy the ride, a distracting break from reality.

I strongly disagree with the negative reviews about the cast and the story. This is definitely a new take on the "same old, same old" story that usually just gets made over with new actors but sticks to the plot. I enjoyed the novel twist with slightly exaggerated costumes, steam punk elements (or whatever you'd like to call it), and lively dialogues. In my opinion, the cast was well chosen and acted very well. This film will definitely remain on my Watchlist.

On the surface its looks great and I was somewhat entertained but the CAST tab shows people and a time period that was TOTALLY WRONG. I had to look up the cast on browser. I can't believe they screwed that up. I pay for Prime yet it seems less than Prime

This is a fun and exciting version of an oft told tale with a few surprises. While true to the tale in general, a few additions were included which don't take away from the story and actually add a fun element to it. In all, it is a exciting swashbuckler of a tale and worth the watch.

Its the closest movie to the original book written by Alexander Dumas in 1844. One of the better movies out of the lot and a personal favorite due to the vibrant colors and quirky characters.

I'm a huge fan of films based upon Literature, and I've seen just about every version of THE THREE MUSKETEERS out there, and I must say this is at the very top of the list! The cast is VERY strong, the film is shot colorfully and tastefully, the pacing is great, and the fight-scenes are out-of-this world! If you're looking for a "Literary Romp" or just a plain ol' Good Time--look no further! I only regret that they never made a Sequel!

1.0 out of 5 stars Extremely boring movie though the disc quality is good.

The Packaging, Quality and other external part is as usual very nice on Amazon.in; but coming to the movie content; this movie is notoriously boring. The trailor shows some exciting scenes and some curious one liners and all; but the moment you start watching the movie you will start yawning non stop and after sometime you will just remove the VCD/DVD out of the player to watch something else. The characters gather at one place and go on discussing something or the other and no real action takes place as they show in the trailor or the kind of build up they try to give the movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Light, Airy, Humorous and even a little Whimsical

I thoroughly loved this version of the musketeers and Orlando Bloom as the baddie...wonderfully costumed and filmed. Milla Jovovich, stars as Milady de Winter the double agent, the love of Athos (Matthew Macfadyen) and Orlando Bloom and Christoph Waltz as the wickedly evil Cardinal Richelieu. Throw in a Da Vinci plan for a war machine and you get a "Wild Wild West" feeling with a touch of light, humorous, Indian Jones adventures.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable steampunk!

If you are one of those literary types who have been looking for a 'faithful' adaptation of the classic created by Alexandre Dumas, then this is NOT your film. If, on the other hand, you are looking for a film to pass a dreary evening that would give you a snooty feeling of watching somethinmg great while all-along keeping you aware that you are being regaled with a typical Hollywood bombast full with improbable stuff with logic-holes the size of Antarctica and a completely new tale of steampunk, then this is just your cup of tea. Recommended.

Great version of the classic story. Only thing is all the actors pretty much have British accents instead of French. Still it’s a enjoyable movie.
