However, its one flaw aside from frustratingly fun levels is that there is a bug that temporarily freezes the Wii when building castle-type or great wall-type tracks.
Aside from that, best Wii Game Ever!!
Overall the game is awesome. The races are quick, fun, and have a good variety. In single player there's a ton of tracks to play through as well as the track builder option which could keep you busy almost indefinitely. You play through the single player to unlock more unique parts for building custom tracks. It's very fun in that the tracks are fun to play even if you have no interest in unlocking parts. Some tracks can be really challenging but not at all impossible if you stick to it. It's very fun playing with others in the multiplayer mode as well. Everyone uses cars that are equal so it is all a matter of skill. The games are very competitive and great for a group of friends. The "matches" are short so you could play in a short amount of time or just keep playing if you have lots of time.
The graphics are on par for other Wii games. The detail into the mechanics is above average for a Wii game and the controls are easy to master. There is no language or violence in this game and would be suitable for any age in that regard but from a difficulty stand point I would say that it would be best for ages over 12.
Overall it's probably my favorite racing game for Wii along with Mario Kart Wii
You can race against an opponet in split screen.
There are puzzle tracks that you can complete and then race. I don't know if they then become a part of tracks available to you.
There are really hard tracks that you try to complete with as few restarts as possible. I have yet to complete one, they are very difficult.
You can build your own courses in any of the 6 modes. You can create closed tracks where you can designate the number of laps to complete a race.
My one criticism is that the cars are too sensitive on steering. It can be hard to hold the road. Also, accelator is on or not. I tend to "pump the gas" to try and control the speed.
Overall a lot of fun.
Consider this before you purchase. My 9-year-old loves to race on his brother's tracks but would never spend the time to make one from scratch. It all depends on the user.
A big hit at our house and at a great price.
