Giorgio Moroder is an Italian composer-producer nicknamed the "Father of Disco", an artist who began his artistic career at the age of 18 by touring Europe as a professional musician.
We find him 7 years later at his aunt's in Berlin, the city where he will work as a sound engineer this time.
He begins to compose his first titles from the year 1965 and performs under the name of Giorgio. He released titles in Italian, German and English and had his first success with the title "Bla bla diddly" in 1966.
It is from the year 1968 that he begins to compose for others and his first title will be "Ich sprenge alle Ketten" for the singer Ricky Shaine, a first title which will bring him his first success.
The same year he will also get his first major success on the personal career side with the title "Moody Trudy", a title that will be talked about all over the Old Continent.
He left for Munich at the very end of the 1960s and produced in 1969 a new successful personal title called "Looky looky", a title that would sell more than a million copies, just that. Title that we will find like its predecessor on his first album "That's bubblegum - That's Giorgio", an album that unfortunately will go somewhat unnoticed...
New album "Giorgio" a year later in 1970, an album which this time will not go unnoticed at least in Italy. He will not go unnoticed but he will struggle to produce the slightest Single of high class...
It is the turn of the album "Son of my father" to be released in 1972, an album with very relative success once again and which will save the furniture in extremis with the title "Underdog" released a year earlier in 1971.
A year 1972 which will all the same reserve a nice surprise for him since the title "Son of my father" present on the album of the same name will be covered by the group 'Chicory Tip' which will make it a planetary hit for the least unexpected...
The album "Giorgio's music" was released in 1973 and did little better than its predecessor in terms of chart success. Only the title "Lonely lovers symphony" which will be extracted from it will manage to hold its own. Another album called "Spinach 1" will also be released in 1973 and will also pass under the radar, an album co-written with Michael Holm.
It was in 1974 that fate decided to change the course of history when he met a young singer then completely unknown by the name of Ladonna Gaines. Young singer for whom he will produce a first album the same year under the name of singer of…Donna Summer ! Which will land the very first hit of her career with the title "Hostage"...
Another counter-performance on the personal career side in 1975 with the failure of the album of instrumental music "Einzelgänger". But the year 1975 will still bring him a huge gift with the planetary mega hit obtained by Donna Summer on a new title written by him, namely the enormous "Love to love you baby".
Business resumed in 1976 on the personal career side with the successful release this time of the album "Knights in white satin". In particular thanks to the Single that bears the name of the album.
It was the year 1977 that gave him his greatest personal career success with the release of the album "From here to eternity". Album which will give him his first – and only – planetary mega hit as a performer.
New album "Love's in you, love's in me" the following year in 1978, album with modest success and which will not produce a hit worthy of the name.
