Cardiospermum halicacabum
Price: £2.25
Although actually a woody perennial, this plant is usually grown as an annual, when it is a rapid-growing, tendril climber. Attractive plants for covering trellis-work, chain link fencing and the like, when during the summer their dense, feathery foliage, smothered with their remarkable inflated seed-pods, forms an unusual, ornamental screen. The seed is used medicinally and its leaves have been used as a vegetable. 10ft (3m)
