If you are also fully obsessed with Amy Adams thanks to a truly *chef's kiss* combo of Enchanted, Sharp Objects, and Julie & Julia (duh), then you'll be pleased to know that her bank account is doing quite well, TYVM. Thanks to her iconic acting roles and other opps like being the face of a fragrance and not-so-casually creating a line of handbags with a *major* luxury company, she's faring quite well for herself!

For those of you who need numerical proof because that's simply how you work (I'm more of a blind faith girly myself 🤪), then look no further than at the actor's ranking on Forbes's 2017 list of the world's highest-paid actresses, where she comes in 1oth place at a truly eye-watering $11.5 million. TL;DR: She's worked hard for her $$$. Here's a handy-dandy breakdown of what all those dollar signs look like.

Let's talk about her film repertoire

Amy's breakout role was in the 2005 independent comedy Junebug. The film not only received *tons* of praise at that year's Sundance Film Festival, but the actor also wound up winning a special jury prize for her part...oh, and her first Oscar nom for Best Supporting Actress. Though the film only grossed $3.4 million, it put Amy on the map and allowed her to book tons of roles shortly thereafter. And those roles in turn = major $$$$$$.

What roles specifically, you ask? Well....

  • Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, which grossed over $163.4 million;
  • Doubt, which grossed around $50.9 million at the box office AND featured Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman and landed Amy nominations for an Oscar, Golden Globe, and a BAFTA for her performance;
  • And Night at the Museum with a slew of famous faces, including Ben Stiller and the late Robin Williams. Amy probs wound up making major money from the franchise considering she was featured in two of the three films in the series, which raked in $574.5 and $413.1 million, respectively.

American Hustle, the 2013 crime film featuring Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper, landed Amy her first Golden Globe for Best Actress and her fifth (!) Oscar nomination in addition to grossing $251.2 million in theaters. However, this payday was not without controversy, as leaked emails from the Sony 2014 hack revealed she and co-star Jennifer Lawrence were paid less than Bradley and Christian. J.Law was allegedly so outraged when the news broke that she even penned an open letter in Lena Dunham’s online publication, Lenny, and said the following:

"The man I was working with (actually, he was working for me) said, 'Whoa! We’re all on the same team here!' As if I was yelling at him. I was so shocked because nothing that I said was personal, offensive, or, to be honest, wrong. All I hear and see all day are men speaking their opinions, and I give mine in the same exact manner, and you would have thought I had said something offensive...Jeremy Renner, Christian Bale, and Bradley Cooper all fought and succeeded in negotiating powerful deals for themselves. If anything, I’m sure they were commended for being fierce and tactical, while I was busy worrying about coming across as a brat and not getting my fair share. Again, this might have NOTHING to do with my vagina, but I wasn’t completely wrong when another leaked Sony email revealed a producer referring to a fellow lead actress in a negotiation as a 'spoiled brat.' For some reason, I just can’t picture someone saying that about a man."

No thoughts, just:

Don't forget Amy's Disney $$

One of the actor's biggest claims to fame has been starring in the musical romantic comedy Enchanted as a Disney princess named Giselle. Amy was not only the main protagonist in the project, but she also sang three songs on the film's soundtrack, which likely earned her some extra moolah. And according to Celebrity Net Worth, her "performance was compared to Julie Andrews" in The Sound of Music. And we all know that major Disney films = major Disney cash... like, the movie grossed over $340 million worldwide and Amy presumably got a large piece of that pie as the lead.

There's no doubt she's continuing to capitalize on the role since the film's sequel, Disenchanted, comes out in T-minus four days!!

And her superhero movie, of course

After a short hiatus in the mid 2010s, Amy took part in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, which premiered in 2016 and raked in a whopping $872.7 million. It's fine! I'm fine!

She's also got that streamer $$$

In 2018, Amy returned to TV (previously, she'd had a recurring role on The Office) with an HBO series based on Gillian Flynn's thriller book, Sharp Objects. According to OK! magazine, Amy earned roughly $300,000 per episode to star in the project.

The role was a sharp (pub absolutely intended) contrast from many of her other roles and earned her both a Golden Globe nod and her first Emmy nomination. It's giving range, people!

Her endorsements def earn her a pretty penny

Amy was the face of Lacoste's fragrance, Eau de Lacoste, in 2012 and was chosen two years later to endorse a number of accessories and handbags from luxury Italian brand Max Mara. In 2015, she even collaborated with Max Mara to design and promote the brand's "A" bag. Of the collab, the actor said, "It’s wonderful to work with Max Mara. I joked they were going to have a hard time getting rid of me, and I was right. It’s really awesome to work with such a reputable brand with a reputation for quality and for supporting women in various arenas. They have such respect for women in the way they design, and it’s a wonderful company to work with.”

And it's clear the brand feels the same way. Giorgio Guidotti, Max Mara's head of PR and communication, mused at the time: "Amy Adams has been our ambassador for four seasons. She's a real woman, who embodies the DNA and character of Max Mara so well: beauty and a classic, timeless approach. In celebration of her beauty, we created a limited edition bag that is the color of her skin. I think she's very happy to have the 'A' Bag dedicated to her."

So what is Amy Adams's net worth, in total?

Oh, that would be a cool $60 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Me to my own egregiously sad bank account:
