Big Little Lies isn't slated to return until 2019, but never fear: HBO has a new show starring Amy Adams that will satiate your appetite until then. It's called Sharp Objects, and if the first trailer's any indication, you're going to be just as obsessed with it as you were with the moms of Monterrey.

This new miniseries centers on Camille (Adams), a crime reporter recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital who's assigned to cover the grisly murder of two young girls in her hometown. As Camille learns more and more about the case, she must battle her own personal demons—including the ones she has with her mother, Adora (played by Patricia Clarkson).

Sharp Object's first trailer is creepy, to say the least. In just 70 seconds, we get acquainted with Camille, who seems more than disturbed by whatever she's uncovering in her hometown. Interspersed with shots of Camille investigating are eerie images of two young girls playing. Whether they're the girls who died or flashbacks of Camille and her sister is a mystery. Regardless, the compilation of images here will send a chill down your spine.

The Gone Girl vibes in this series aren't coincidental. The source material is written by Gillian Flynn, who, as you probably know, created Gone Girl. All eight episodes of Sharp Objects were also directed by Big Little Liars' Jean-Marc Vallée, which explains the shows' similar aesthetics. Each one just feels unnerving—like you're watching a pressure cooker minutes before it pops.

Check out the trailer for yourself, below.

If you squint your eyes and tilt your head to the left, you can practically see Amy Adams accepting an Emmy for this role in September.

Sharp Objects is arriving to HBO in July 2018.
