The feature film "The Grüninger File" documents the life of a true hero. Paul Grüniger saved the lives of numerous people during the Nazi era. Although the Swiss border has been closed to refugees for around six months, hundreds of people continue to enter the country without a valid visa, particularly in the border region with Germany and Austria, which was "brought home" by Hitler.
The film was released in cinemas on January 31, 2014. Although it was mainly filmed in Switzerland and on the border, scenes from Hall in Tirol can also be seen. More specifically, the film was shot at the following locations in the town: Stiftsplatz, Hall elementary school, Münzergasse.
