1. After Czech week, we chose not as demanding activity and decided to watch a German
movie Die Welle, The Wave in English. Its plot is related to society in Eastern bloc,
dictatorship to be exact. High school teacher begins an experiment with his class to help
them understand what is it like to live in country with autocratic political system. The
teacher loses control and the school project becomes unit of its own resembling fascistic
society. The movie won 8 awards and was nominated for 8 more on various national and
international film festivals. Our class agreed that the movie displays dictatorship very well
and we recommend watching it.
