Daily Express: “Our Happiest Day” is slightly clunky phrasing, although we appreciate that the headline is a complete sentence—a departure from typical tabloid form. 8.0

Daily Star: Is that the Union Jack in the background? Brilliant. 6.5

Daily Mirror (the royal wedding): The egg-shaped portraits of William and Kate off to the right are so odd. 4.0

The Sun: How histrionic! 2.3

The Daily Mail (wedding souvenir special): Wasn’t the “waiting over” when they got engaged? Either way, we’re going to deduct points for gratuitous cruelty. 1.2

The Daily Mail: Oh right, we had completely forgotten about the minor, last-minute snafu involving Syria’s ambassador to England. 5.6

Daily Mirror: That paparazzi shot of Kate behind the wheel is perfect! And William in a side egg, turning away as if he’s uninterested and might break up with her? A mastery of tabloid journalism. 9.6

The Independent: Did you stop worrying about terrorism amid all the celebratory wedding joy? Well you shouldn’t have. 2.4

London Evening Standard: Kate’s vows did not include an oath to “obey” William, an omission that’s been troubling the London Evening Standard. 1.9
