SINGLE REVIEW: U2 – Get Out Of Your Own Way

U2

U2 are returning to their pop-rock roots for their upcoming fourteenth studio album “Songs Of Experience” with strong hooks and empowerful lyrics. Their new single “Get Out Of Your Own Way” hears them channeling a softer melody. It returns to their earlier formula and gives you one of their strongest songs in years. It’s catchy, empowering and has this feel good vibe to it. “I could sing it to you all night. If I could, I’d make it alright. Nothing’s stopping you except what’s inside. I can help you, but it’s your fight”. Bono’s vocals are as strong as they have ever been and help deliver that stadium rock sound you’ve become accustomed to. It’s not groundbreaking like “Beautiful Day” “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” but it has a strong chorus that you can sing along to and is a lot more impactful than any of the material on their previous record.
